Frequently asked questions

How do I control the grid shape?

Set the number of columns (or leave it on Auto for a near-square grid) and the cell size. Rows are worked out from how many photos you've added, and the arrows in the photo list set the order they fill in.

What's the difference between Fill and Fit?

Fill crops each photo so it covers its whole cell — best for a clean, uniform grid. Fit shrinks each photo so all of it is visible, leaving background around photos whose shape differs from the cell.

Can I make a collage with transparent gaps?

Yes — turn on the transparent background and export as PNG or WebP. JPG can't store transparency, so those gaps would come out black; the tool warns you if you pick that combination.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. SqueezePix runs entirely in your browser — files are opened and processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. You can even load the page, go offline, and keep working.
