Frequently asked questions
Will this work on any photo?
It works on plain, even backgrounds — a white product shot, a logo on a solid colour, a green screen. It removes a colour, not a subject, so a busy or textured background will come out patchy. Subject-aware AI removal is planned for Pro.
The edges look harsh or have a coloured fringe.
Add a little Edge fade to soften the cut, and keep 'Remove colour fringe' on — it pulls the leftover backdrop tint out of edge pixels, which is what makes green-screen cut-outs look fake.
Parts of my subject are disappearing.
The tolerance is too high, and your subject contains shades close to the background. Lower it until the subject is intact, then nudge it up one step at a time.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. SqueezePix runs entirely in your browser — files are opened and processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. You can even load the page, go offline, and keep working.
